Do Olympic Bars Really Break?

11:04 - happy - my hand push-ups are getting better.

So today I heard that 4 Olympic Bars were broken at the gym from dropping weight overhead. What do you think? I am calling bullshit because of all the people (that should be fired) that dislike CrossFit. I will investigate this and get back to you all.

I am almost through the Greg Glassman Speech he gave to the Marines in the CrossFit journal. I can't wait to get to the part in which he suggests all the US military civilian PT people should be fired. What did everything think of that series of videos?

  1. Did you hear that rumor from the guy who didn't want you making so much darn noise? 4 bars? Crazy. You are doing great with your performance and PRs lately. Keep up the good work. Those stuffed pappers and pork looked delicious! Good cooking Tyler

  2. I download the video to CD and listen in the car. Nothing new on the CrossFit speech, except from the Operation Pheonix stuff. Greg Glassman gave essentially the same speech he gave to the War College. It is still a great speech and I listen to it 2x just to get everything.

Good luck lifting tomorrow. I thought about sending you dad my Snatches from today. I video'd it just to coach myself.

  3. If they are crappy O-lifting bars and the collars don't turn anymore because they have been neglected and seize then they can shear off at the collars. A GOOD quality bar will never break. Maybe people are using steel plates instead of bumpers when they drop them.
